My name is Cally Gatehouse, I’m a designer and researcher working at Northumbria University. The work presented here is part of my practice-based PhD. I started out working in the very old media world of Oxford University Press but got very curious about what all this digital business was about. This led me to do an MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins looking at how social media with the publishing industry. After graduating, I worked as a freelance graphic designer developing independent projects as well as undertaking  client work.

I started at Northumbria University in 2014 as a Graduate Tutor, where I teach on the BA (hons) Graphic Design programme as well as working on my PhD.
